Training programs for parents and
professionals that change kids and
communities for the better. Target Corporation is the underwriting sponsor of the KidsChange Youth Intervention Training Program. By supporting this program, tens of thousands of youth per year will benefit from improved youth services as a result of YIPA's quality statewide and regional conferences, professional development trainings, and parent training programs.
YIPA's KidsChange Initiative Training Program
Professional impact:
One of the strongest elements of KidsChange is to increase the capacity of existing youth intervention programs to be more effective through providing the highest quality training programs. These trainings address issues most pertinent to the professional and organizational needs of youth service workers. Topics address meeting the needs of immigrant youth and families, empowering African American boys, understanding the influences and challenges facing youth from drugs, on the Internet, and in music, and developing leadership among youth service professionals.
Since 2000, YIPA has trained almost 11,000 youth service professionals impacting an estimated 274,000 youth.
Helping Parents:
From time to time we offer training sessions for parents, typically held in the evenings. Topics are designed to give you valuable information and strategies for addressing your greatest needs. Target Corporation sponsors our training programs so all parents, regardless of income, can participate. We do not charge a fee for these events.
